Basma El Doukhi’s Review of the Research Ethics Guidelines Provided by IASFM, the Kaldor Centre, and the German Network for Forced Migration Studies has been published in the Journal of Refugee Studies. We are very grateful that Basma included the German Network’s guidelines and very much appreciate the thoughtful feedback and valuable suggestions – particularly regarding the significance of deeper reflection on research in countries in the Global South and the need for more practical guidance.

The Ethics Guidelines of the German Network for Forced Migration Studies were published in 2024 following a participatory process involving scholars with and without lived experiences of displacement. The process was co-led by Franzisca Zanker, Christiane Fröhlich, and Ulrike Krause.
